Teen Summer Reading Program!

The Hawaii State Public Library System (HSPLS) is pleased to celebrate “HEROES” at public libraries statewide, in fictional in literature and film, superheroes in comics.

The Teen Summer Reading Program is open to teens in Grades 7 to 12. Registration at libraries statewide begins May 31 and the program runs through July 18 – for seven weeks!

Participation in the free program is easy – teens who read at least one book per week will be eligible to receive a free weekly reading incentive, while supplies last. Weekly reading incentives include tantalizing treats and cool items that can be customized such as a 4-color Pen with cushion grip or a fill-able Clear Photo Frame Key Tag! Teen participants are also eligible to enter free lucky drawings and can enter Hawaii Pizza Hut’s “Get Caught Reading” Instagram Contest for a chance to win weekly prizes. Most importantly, the Teen Summer Reading Program is a fun way to encourage teens to keep their minds engaged.

We encourage you to share the attached flyer with your students, faculty and PTSAfreely, and have provided color and black and white versions here as well as downloadable files on HSPLS’s website www.librarieshawaii.org for your convenience. Visit www.librarieshawaii.org to learn more about the Summer Reading Programs available for Children, Teens and Adults and to access reading lists and a schedule of special activities, programs and performances. The Summer Reading Programs are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii, numerous corporate sponsors and community partners.
